The Hollywood VFX sorcerer who now directs beautiful, poignant films.
Peter Szewczyk (pronounced Chef-Chick) is more than a director. Splitting his time between London and Los Angeles, his skills in VFX production have allowed him to dip a toe in Hollywood. He’s worked under the likes James Cameron and George Lucas, contributing to huge franchises including Harry Potter, Shrek, Star Wars and Ice Age. After years of watching directors, he took the leap a few years back to become one himself.
Since then he’s directed some stunning short films that have brought him considerable acclaim, a few music videos – one of which earned him a UKMVA nomination, and a few commercials.
He was formerly signed to Independent Films, but left last year to supervise the VFX on a sequence in Thor 2. Now he’s done with that, he’s keen to get back into the fray of directing, and with a reel like his, his future looks promising.
